Bespoke driftwood gifts, handmade with lots of love

Recently I was approached by a family member who runs a chain of children’s nurseries with an idea to create bespoke sensory boards for children aged 0-8 years of age. I consequently researched the Montessori learning process and developed several sensory boards which have proved to be a huge success.

The ‘busy’ boards are designed and created with the Montessori learning style in mind. They provide kinaesthetic learning for children using hands and sensors to figure out process. They are an excellent way of facilitating the development of fine motor skills and great for children with special needs.

These benefits are also proving extremely beneficial with Alzheimer and Dementia patients. They can enable the older generations to re-discover the world around them through hands on activities helping with physical and cognitive exercise.

They have been piloted in a number of nurseries in Co. Durham and have had fantastic feedback.

Testimonials from the nursery group but also from their professional partners (all graded outstanding by Ofsted).

*Simply amazing*

“Each board is sturdy, well made and a work of art! The craftmanship and attention to detail is wonderful. From an educational standpoint each board provides unique and bespoke ways to develop fine motor skills, problem solving, imagination, communication, memory, logic, as well as encouraging children to think creatively.”

“An absolute must for any parent or early years setting looking to promote and encourage independence by learning through play. Children by all ages and abilities are enamoured, captivated and enthused by the various features on offer. Each built in activity offers differing levels of sensory challenge, stimulating children’s intrigue whilst providing them with invaluable opportunities to progress in their attainment.
